Choosing a roller that’s right for the paint being used and the surface being painted is critical to getting a quality finish and working efficiently. Here’s the key information on each fabric to help you make the best choice.

Emulsion, Eggshell, Masonry

Ice Fusion

Woven fabric that has zero pile shed, requiring no pre-washing before use, and gives a market-leading finish comparable with spray equipment.

Medium and Short Pile Microfibre

Woven synthetic fibres that have superior paint loading to other fabrics. Releases paint evenly to give smooth delivery and a high quality finish. Ideal for emulsion and eggshell.

Tiger

Woven synthetic fabric with a good balance of performance and cost and suitable for many surface types. ProDec's biggest selling fabric for emulsion and masonry paints.

Polyamide

Woven synthetic fabric engineered for ultra toughness making it ideal for masonry and other rough surfaces where its superior durability means it will last longer than other rollers.

Sheepskin

Top quality natural merino wool that absorbs paint well, giving superb loading and release for a high quality finish with a wide range of paint types and surfaces.

Polyester

Knitted synthetic fabric that gives cost effective, entry level trade performance with emulsion. Trade grade knitted polyester is a higher density than DIY rollers and gives a better finish.

Gloss, Satin, Woodstain, Varnish, Clearcoat

Flocked Foam

Very short pile synthetic fibres electrostatically coated onto high density foam, which leave no roller texture in the paint film. Gives a mirror-like finish with gloss, satin and clear coats that is superior to other fabrics.

Foam

Synthetic foam that combines cost effectiveness with zero pile shed, giving a smooth finish and low or zero roller texture with gloss and satin. Trade grade foam is high density compared to low density DIY grades.

Simulated Mohair

Classic decorator's glossing fabric that blends natural and synthetic woven mohair fibres, giving zero pile shed and virtually no roller texture for a superior trade finish. Also suitable for low viscosity woodcare products.

Short Pile Microfibre

Synthetic fibres that are softer than all other woven fabrics enables short pile microfibre to be used with gloss and satin as it leaves no roller texture. Also gives higher paint loading than other glossing fabrics.

Nylon

Woven synthetic fabric that has good solvent resistant properties, making it ideal for gloss, satin, woodstains and other solvent-based products including resin and epoxy paints.
