This Decorator"™s Bib & Brace is made using 100% soft cotton drill fabric with multiple pockets, enabling you to decorate with your most important tools close at hand. Comfort comes as standard: the cotton is pre-shrunk during the manufacturing process so you don't have to worry about it shrinking any further when it's machine washed, the waistband is shaped and elasticated for a fit that is snug without being restrictive and the adjustable braces feature reinforced clips that won"™t snap. Being natural cotton it will also absorb flicks and spots of paint so they aren't transferred onto other surfaces. For comfort and reduced wear and tear when kneeling, the knee area is quilted and if you want to add extra padding there are pockets on the inside of the leg for foam knee pads (not included). There is plenty of capacity for tools: the classic decorator"™s waist level, wide front pouch features a button closure and is ideal for paperhanging brushes and many other tools, plus there's a zip close pocket with 2 outset patch pockets mounted onto the bib, deep pen/scissor pocket to the rear, front mobile phone pocket, twin front and rear patch pockets and a rear tool loop. There's a handy key loop, plus 2 side pocket style openings for easy access to garments underneath.

What is the difference between ProDec, ProDec Advance and ProDec Contractor?

ProDec offers the most comprehensive range of products for the decorating trade, while ProDec Advance represents innovative products such as the Ice Fusion paint brush and roller collection, Titan roller frame and scraper, plus the Super Cling dust sheets. ProDec Contractor offers up a small range of entry point trade essentials.

The ProDec Advance range features hardwearing polycotton fabric with stain-resistant coating.

What about workwear for women?

Although the classic bib & brace still has a big fan club, we know that decorators are increasingly favouring trousers to work in. Whilst both men and women wear trousers, we know that women’s clothing is cut differently, which is why we have a Women’s Painter’s Trouser. It has all the same features and functionality as the men’s, but was designed by women to ensure a better fit.

What are Wipe Mate and Pouch Mate all about?

The classic painter’s trousers have stood the test of time and thanks to clever storage designs in particular they’re much more functional than ever. But it’s not all about pockets: Wipe Mate is a piece of stain-resistant fabric that attaches to ProDec Advance trousers and gives you somewhere to wipe your hands that doesn’t mean getting your whites covered in paint, caulk or anything else and helping them look good for longer. Pouch Mate takes one of the best features of a bib & brace – the wide storage pouch – and adds it to trousers.

Both Wipe Mate and Pouch Mate attach via a simple button system and can be detached and washed separately.

Which is the best fabric?

This is one that’s down to personal choice.

Cotton drill is the original fabric for painters’ whites and it has a soft handle which feels comfortable against your skin. It’s fairly absorbent, so spots of paint won’t wipe off easily, so it gets dirtier more quickly.

Polycotton is a durable fabric that doesn’t feel as soft as cotton, but it’s less absorbent so it generally looks better for longer. Plus you can add a stain-resistant coating to it, like on ProDec Advance Trousers and Bib & Brace, which enhances this even more.

Where can I buy ProDec decorators’ workwear?

ProDec decorators’ workwear is available via many of our stockists, and you can also find them on leading online retail sites.

Owing to the number of products in the ProDec range, not all retailers will stock all our products so it’s worth contacting them before you visit. But if they don’t have what you want, all stockists are able to order any ProDec product and get it for you within a couple of days.
