Our Code of Ethics

Responsible sourcing isn’t just a box to be ticked, it’s a conscious decision and something to be taken seriously.

Sedex

Rodo is a member of Sedex, an organisation dedicated to improving working conditions around the world. It’s not just suppliers who are independently visited to check that factories are safe, employees are treated well and paid fairly: our own UK site is audited for our customers’ peace of mind.

On the ground

When it comes to sourcing it’s important to understand who you’re dealing with, and that’s about more than just a product and an email address. Our sourcing team visits existing suppliers regularly, and before deciding to work with any new supplier we always visit their factory – no matter how distant they may be and how long it takes to get there – to do our own checks and satisfy ourselves that they have the same values of honesty, integrity and fairness.

Social Compliance Policy

Our approach is to work closely with our customers and suppliers to ensure the highest quality and satisfaction in our products and service.

We are committed to:

  • Working with dedication and innovation, with total focus on our customer.
  • Integrity, honesty and sincerity by following ethical and moral standards.
  • Promoting a work culture that provides individual growth, team spirit and investments to overcome challenges and attain goals.
  • Achieving growth along with our customers, suppliers and colleagues.

In order to achieve this, we have developed this Social Compliance policy based on the internationally acknowledged ETI base code.

The standards outlined below give an overview of the values we uphold in our own policies and we expect our suppliers to follow these standards and requirements:

  • Employment is freely chosen – see also our Modern Slavery Statement
  • Freedom of Association
  • Safe and hygienic working conditions shall be provided
  • Rodo does not engage in or support the use of child labour
  • Fair wages are paid
  • Working hours comply with national laws and benchmark industry standards
  • No discrimination is practised
  • Regular employment is provided
  • No harsh of inhumane treatment is allowed
  • Protect the environment

Environment

With millions of our products sold every year, we take our responsibility to the environment seriously. We are committed to reducing the amount of packaging in our products and removing or minimising plastic and ensuring that what plastic we do use is fully recyclable. Rodo is also a member of OPRL, an independent organisation dedicated to delivering simple, consistent recycling messages and we are working with them to ensure clarity of our message.
